Our story
At General Containers & Storage, we are dedicated to providing high-quality shipping containers for sale and hire across New Zealand. With the ability to call on 3 generations of family experience in the container industry, we understand the importance of durability, security, and flexibility. That’s why we offer a wide range of new and used containers, including standard, high cube, refrigerated, and custom-modified units, ensuring our customers get exactly what they need.
From beginning with our one location in Wellington, to now being able to service customer needs nationwide, our small but experienced team have proven time and again that we can provide our customers with the storage option they require.

Jack has been involved in the shipping container industry all his life. Growing up in the family business - Pinnacle Corp, which spans three generations (Keith, Dion & Jack), he spent his school holidays repairing shipping containers on the Port of Tauranga.
After finishing school he went straight to work for the family business in shipping container sales, hire and repair. During that time he gained a further 10 years experience. With Pinnacle Corp now sold, Jack has opened General Containers & Storage to provide top notch shipping container expertise backed by many years of experience in the industry.
With a background in high performance rowing and event management, Ben transitioned from a successful competitive career with Rowing New Zealand to roles in on-water event management at Lake Karapiro and coaching at Hamilton Girls' High School. Now new to the shipping container industry as the National Operations and Sales Manager for General Containers NZ, Ben brings strong organizational skills and a solid work ethic to the role. The focus is on driving operational efficiency and sales growth, ensuring that processes run smoothly and performance remains top-notch.
With 40 years experience in repairs and modifications of shipping containers, Ed is undoubtably one of the best in the business.
Ed association to General Containers & Storage goes back over 35+ years to when he worked with Keith at ContainerTech. Having worked for ContainerTech, Pinnacle and now General, Ed has become part of the family.
When buying a container from us, it's a high likelihood the Ed has been involved in making sure its in tip top shape before it arrives to you.
